The Qualifiers: Hull KR v Halifax

James Gordon

Promotion favourites Hull KR get their Qualifiers campaign underway against Halifax on Sunday.

It is a repeat of the Championship fixture a fortnight ago where Halifax came away with a comprehensive victory that secured their place in the top four.

The Robins have new signing Mose Masoe in their 19-man squad after arriving in the country earlier this week.

Winger Justin Carney returns after missing the last two matches, while another recent signing Chris Atkin is included.

Andrew Heffernan and George Lawler return from injury, but Adam Quinlan and James Greenwood are sidelined with minor knocks.

Coach Tim Sheens told the club’s official website: “We’ll give them (the fans) a game to shout about because they’ve been a bit disappointed with our last couple of efforts and rightly so, but in real terms we led the Championship competition this year with a lot of players coming in and out of the side with injury.

“However, we’re getting towards something close to our best side for when it matters.

“This is the most important part of the season, we’re finally at the business end of the year and it’s time for us all of us to step up and show what we’re made of in regards to our ability and doing what’s expected of us.”
