Purtell eyes Halifax return

Bradford captain Adrian Purtell is hopeful of making his return from injury against Halifax on Easter Monday.

Purtell suffered a groin injury in the 32-32 draw with Leigh. The 31-year old is targeting getting back on the field for the Fax match on March 28.

“I hurt it during the Leigh game, it’s just a slight tear,” he told Love Rugby League.

“So I’m hoping I’ll be back in the next couple of weeks. It’s a four to six week injury but it feels quite good, so I’ll think it will be a four week injury.”

The Bulls remain undefeated after three wins and two draws from five rounds.

“It’s been a more stable start to the season for us,” Purtell said.

“I guess we were quite lucky in that Leigh game. We didn’t start like anywhere near we wanted to and I don’t think we’ll have another game like that again, where we sort of got out of jail.

“So we were quite lucky to get a point. We probably didn’t deserve to get anything out of it but credit to the boys, they never game up. All in all, I’ve been quite happy, the camp’s quite confident.”
