Bradford captain Adrian Purtell says Batley are playing wtih no fear and the Bulls will be have to be at their best to beat the Bulldogs.

Bradford travel to Bately on Sunday. The Bulldogs have lost just once this season while the Bulls are undefeated.

Purtell will miss the game as he recovers from a groin injury.

“We’ve got a tough test this weekend with Batley who are playing really well, especially at their ground, so we’re going to have to play well to beat them,” the 31-year old told Love Rugby League.

“Both games we played against Batley last were just very tough games. I heard stories about their home ground before we went there last year.

“Unfortunately I didn’t get to play there last year either. But it’s a whole different kettle of fish the way they play up and down the hill. They know that ground like the back of their hand, they’ve got a big, tough forward pack and they just keep going forward.”

Batley have already knocked off Leigh, Sheffield, Halifax and Workington Town so far this season.

The Bulldogs only loss came by two points against Featherstone.

“It’s definitely going to be a tough game for us,” Purtell admits.

“And they’re playing with no fear at the moment. They beat Leigh in round one so they’ll be coming into this game full of confidence. We’ll have to be right on top of our game to win.”
