Dewsbury have signed England Academy prop Matty English on a season-long loan from Huddersfield.
English, 20, made his debut for the Giants last season and was part of the England Academy squad that toured Australia in 2016.
Rams boss Neil Kelly said: “Matty showed up well against us in the pre-season, and against Wakefield, and he comes highly-rated.
“He is tipped by the papers as the player most likely to come to the fore for Huddersfield this season, but we’re hoping that he’s going to come to the fore with us.
“He adds depth to a pack that is already strong, but which perhaps lacks numbers.
“Huddersfield have the ability to call him back, but if they have a reasonable time with injuries then there’s every chance he’ll remain with us.
“Ideally, I’d like to sign my own players on, but currently there aren’t any available in that position that are right for what we need.
“With that in mind, Matty is a tremendous acquisition for us.”
