The managing director of PROBIZ, Feisal Nahaboo, has joined Featherstone’s Strategic Management Board to support the club’s bid for Super League.

Rovers, who won the Championship last season and have topped the table for the past two years, recently announced their intentions to apply for a licence for the 2015-17 period.

PROBIZ have been a prolific rugby league sponsor in recent years, and were headline sponsor of last season’s World Club Challenge.

Castleford’s Wheldon Road ground is named PROBIZ Coliseum, and the company featured as main shirt sponsor of Halifax and a secondary sponsor of Wigan in recent times, as well as sponsoring the popular Tryline Podcast.

Feisal said: “Fev’s initial plans for a Super League return looks more promising than anything I’ve seen or heard. It’s exciting times for the region. I will help Mark, Paul Taylor and Craig Poskitt develop the club from the sidelines and I hope to share advice and strategies deployed elsewhere that has seen entities rise to substantial heights. Key businessman and key ‘influences’ will also be supporting the bid.

“Fev fans should be rejoicing today. I believe there’s a brilliant chance the Fev v Cas derby in super league will be back soon. The local region will prosper from significant new investment with new jobs and new infrastructure. This will develop the social and economic welfare of both sets of fans and I am looking forward to offering my support.

“For the record, I would like to thank Fev for making me feel wanted and I hope I can contribute partially to their on-going dominance outside Super League. The club seems to be in good hands with Mark Campbell. He will do what it takes to return to Super League. He has a brilliant attitude and on efforts Fev will have a substantial campaign.”

PROBIZ, founded in 2002, is a leading UK marketing and professional services company working with approximately 400 independent accountancy practices throughout the UK.

Rovers chairman Mark Campbell said: “To attract somebody of the calibre of Feisal to Featherstone Rovers is fantastic news. Feisal brings a wealth of experience and many contacts to the club which is not only great for Featherstone Rovers but the whole of Rugby League in general. I’m sure Feisal’s business acumen will be hugely beneficial not only to Featherstone Rovers and Destination Super League but also for the town of Featherstone and the surrounding area.”

Recently, Feisal has been spending time promoting UK sporting opportunities in the Middle East, where he also acts as the RFL’s representative.
