New York coach Dave Woods will take charge of his first Co-operative Championship One fixture without Alex Benson, but Danny Hill should be fit.

Woods said: “Last week our enthusiasm was really good, but in the end Crusaders were just too big and too strong for us.

“I’ve got videos of Rochdale and I’ve had a look at those already. They’re going OK, but we’re at home and the boys are buzzing a bit, so I’m expecting a big game from us.”

Jack Lee could make his Knights debut after joining on a short-term loan deal from Featherstone. “He’ll be really handy for us,” said Woods. “He was a great kid when I was at Castleford, so it’s great to link back up with him.”

Steven Roper (shoulder) and Mark Hobson (groin) are both ruled out for Hornets, who are already without Liam McGovern for the rest of the season.

Rochdale coach John Stankevitch said: “I’ve watched York a couple of times on video and we played them in pre-season. The biggest player for them is Chris Thorman – if you can limit what he does with the ball and make him work in defence, then you’ve got a chance.”
