Karl Olstrum (ankle) and Matt Tunstall (ankle) remain sidelined for Workington, despite initial hopes that they could be fit enough to return to action in Sunday’s Co-operative Championship One showdown with Doncaster.

Marc Bainbridge is also struggling to be included after damaging his back while training in the gym last week.

Workington joint coach Gary Charlton said: “The last time we played Doncaster they gave us a bit of a touch up.

“They’re enthusiastic, young, keen and play some good rugby. We’ve got to match that, and then find a little bit extra.”

He added: “They hit the line hard, offload and like to back up in numbers. They’re a very good team, and we know it’s going to be a challenge.”

Jamie Bovill is back in contention for Doncaster after completing a five-match suspension, while Craig Robinson (shoulder) and Mick Butterfield (knee) will be tested later in the week.

Director of Rugby Carl Hall said: “We have already beaten Workington at home this year, but we all know Cumbria is very tough place to go.

“However, one thing I do know is our lads are very determined to start winning games.”
