Preview: Barrow v Featherstone

Rob Roberts is available for Barrow after the RFL’s disciplinary hearing ruled that his sending off against Hunslet Warriors was sufficient punishment for his involvement in a brawl.

New signings Matt James and Jermaine McGilvary could both make their Raiders debuts against in-form Featherstone.

Last week Rovers backed up their 36-10 victory over Batley with a crushing 40-10 triumph at Dewsbury.

Featherstone coach Daryl Powell said: “I thought we were outstanding last week, particularly defensively.

“We had to work hard but we looked pretty sharp at times. Our completion rate was high and Liam Finn was really smart with his kicking game in the first half.

“The mentality and the willingness to work for each other is there and they’re the foundations.”

He added: “It will be a tight game against Barrow. They’ve got plenty of good players but we’re going to need to be able to handle good players as the season goes on.”
