Barrow coach Nigel Wright is aiming to make it third time lucky when his squad face Featherstone in Thursday’s Sky televised Co-operative Championship match.

Raiders have been shown on Sky Sports twice this season, and have lost both times – against Featherstone 48-12 and against Widnes 42-14.

Martin Ostler is hoping to feature, despite suffering tendon damage in his ring finger during Barrow’s match against Batley recently.

Wright will also check on Zeb Luisi, who has been on a trip to New Zealand following a recent family bereavement. Luisi was due to return to British soil on Tuesday,

Rovers’ Iain Morrison is expected to miss out after sustaining a broken jaw during last week’s Northern Rail Cup semi-final defeat against Halifax.

Victory for Featherstone Rovers on Thursday night would see them narrow the gap on league leaders Leigh to just three points.

Coach Daryl Powell admitted: “We were taught another harsh lesson in key areas (against Halifax), and we must learn from it, but not dwell on it. We have a big game against Barrow and that is what’s in our minds now.”
