Wigan prop Paul Prescott has joined South Wales on loan, and will make his debut for them in Toulouse this weekend.

Prescott, 26, has made 134 Super League appearances for the Warriors, and is currently on the comeback trail following injury, turning out for the Under 20s against Castleford last Sunday.

Wigan Coach Shaun Wane said: “Paul needs a game this weekend so he’s going to have a run with South Wales. He’s got his passport ready and hopefully he’ll be back pressing for a first-team spot soon.”

Also joining the Scorpions are youngsters Greg Burke and Gil Dudson, who have both signed dual-registration deals with the Welsh club.

Welsh international Dudson is a familiar name to the Scorpions having scored five tries in 18 appearances already for the club.

Scorpions’ coach Dave Clark said: “It’s fantastic that we have this assistance from the Warriors. It’s been quite an insane week selecting the team with one player or another either injured or unavailable. We’re grateful to Paul, Greg and Gil for stepping in and we’re looking forward to seeing them in Scorpions jerseys on Saturday evening.”

Scorpions travel to France to play Toulouse in the Northern Rail Cup on Saturday night, the first overseas game in their short history.
