Powell wants ripped Rangi

Castleford coach Daryl Powell says he wants Rangi Chase to shed a few pounds as the halfback finds his feet again in Super League.

Chase rejoined the Tigers recently and has had two appearances, setting up a try in each game.

He played the full 80 minutes in the victory against Hull FC.

Powell said after the Black and Whites game that the 30-year old Kiwi is improving.

“He’ll get better with every game,” he said.

“He’s obviously only had a couple of games with us and I think he’s getting better.

“He just needs to lose a bit of weight and get fitter, but there’s some promising signs there that he’s still got the classy touches that he’s always had really.

“He’s fitting in to how we’re playing. His relationship with Luke Gale… that’s just going to take time but I think there was some realy promising signs from him.”
