Powell – Still room for Fev improvement

Featherstone Rovers coach Daryl Powell insists there is still room for improvement despite winning four out of four games.

The early Kingstone Press Championship leaders defeated Hunslet Hawks 36-18 on Sunday but were 24-0 up at half-time.

Powell said: “Eighteen points is too many and we need to dip down on that and improve our standards defensively.

“For big parts on Sunday we defended okay, but we got really sloppy. Our standards are better than that. We have got work to do and we will get on with that and tidy ourselves up a bit.

“The win is the most important thing, but in the second half it was a poor performance.”

Featherstone travel to Whitehaven on Sunday looking to take their winning streak to five.
