Castleford coach Daryl Powell has admitted that his team’s emhpatic win over Wigan has lifted his mood.

Cas were yet to win a game in Super League in 2015, but thrashed Wigan 42-12 at the Mend-a-Hose Jungle on Friday night.

“The last month of my life has not been the best, to be honest. I haven’t been the happiest bloke in the world, so to do what we did today was fantastic,” Powell told reporters after the game.

“We could easily have gone negative and cautious on the back of what’s happened to us recently.

“That the players were able to express themselves in the way they did tonight was outstanding.”
