Powell happy with London progress

London Broncos head coach Rob Powell says he was happy with his side’s progress, despite the 50-10 defeat to Warrington at the weekend.

The Broncos took an early lead through Michael Witt, but went in 22-10 at half time, before shipping 28 unanswered points in the second half.

It was their second consecutive defeat, following last week’s 34-24 home defeat against St Helens.

Powell told the club’s official website: “As long as we are making strides then that is the key thing, and I thought there were things we did better today.

“There are some things that still need to improve, but that is what we will work on in training this week.

“We need to make sure we are getting better every week and get stronger as we go along.

“The right things were being said and the effort was certainly there.

“We had the chase and we had the scamble, it was just a matter of application at times.

“The new players we have brought in will be really big this week and I am pretty excited about how the players will repond in training.”
