Former St George Illawarra and Bradford coach Mick Potter has been appointed as the new coach of Fiji.

Potter takes over from Rick Stone and will take charge of the Bati’s Test against Papua New Guinea at Parramatta Stadium in May.

The 52-year old is currently an assistant to Nathan Brown at the Newcastle Knights.

Fiji National Rugby League chief executive Timoci Naleba said that Potter has signed a short-term contract and that further discussions would take place at the end of the year regarding the 2017 World Cup.
