Wakefield prop Justin Poore is facing a ban following his red card for punching Wigan’s Liam Farrell on Sunday.

Poore, 28, has conceded more penalties than any other player in Super League this season, and saw red for the second time in his short Wildcats career – albeit the first came in the Boxing Day friendly against Leeds.

He has been charged with a Grade B punching offence, which normally carries a suspension tariff of 1-2 games.

The Australian was given a straight red by referee Robert Hicks after just 10 minutes at the DW Stadium, and Wigan went on to win the game 44-24.

Meanwhile, Salford half-back Theo Fages was issued a formal caution for a dangerous contact offence during their defeat at Widnes.
