Liverpool fan Blake Austin can’t wait to grace the Anfield turf when Warrington play Wigan at the Magic Weekend.

Austin, who is favourite to win the 2019 Steve Prescott Man of Steel award, joined the Wolves in the off-season from Canberra Raiders.

All 12 of Super League’s teams will descend on the city on the weekend of May 25-26 for the first ever Magic Weekend to be held in Liverpool.

On Magic Weekend being at Anfield, Austin commented: “It’s actually one of those moments, a kid from Australia to step on that field on play, it’s going to be a big moment.

“I took on supporting Liverpool when I knew I was coming over and to be on that turf will be awesome.

“It’s great to get our product in front of as many new faces as we can, I’m a real believer that we’ve got a great product and it’s just a matter of getting as many people to see it as we can.”

St Helens winger Tommy Makinson has already played at Anfield, having scored a hat-trick for England in their Test win over New Zealand last autumn.

He picked up the Golden Boot award shortly after England’s Test series win over the Kiwis, and he will return to Anfield when his side face Castleford on Sunday, May 26.

Makinson added: “The test series we played there with England, it was pretty special and to put the performance in that I did there is something I’ll always remember.

“I think having only played one game of rugby there, I think to take this game back with our domestic side St Helens and to widen Super League there will be fantastic.”

Tickets for Magic Weekend are still available, and a three-match day ticket in The Kop will cost just £13.50 for U16s and £26 for adults. To purchase tickets, click here
