Gateshead’s Mitchell Stevens and Workington’s Elliott Miller have both been handed bans for their part in a brawl when the two teams last met.

Stevens was found guilty of two offences of fighting and using foul and abusive language towards a match official, Grade C and B respectively, in the 50th minute of Gateshead’s 84-12 defeat against Workington Town on Sunday June 12.

Stevens, who admitted the offence, received a two-match suspension for the Grade C offence of fighting and one match for the Grade B abusive language, he was also fined £50 after the panel deemed him to be the aggressor in the fight.

Workington Town player Elliott Miller pleaded guilty to a Grade C offence for his part in the incident, which resulted in a two-match suspension and £50 fine.

The committee also handed down a £50 fine to Gateshead Thunder player Reece Young, who avoided suspension despite being found guilty of the Grade A offence of punching.

The previous disciplinary records of all players were taken into consideration by the panel.
