Players charged after NRC final red cards

Leigh’s Steve Maden and Sheffield’s Liam Higgins have been charged by the RFL following their red cards in last weekend’s Northern Rail Cup final.

The pair were sent off by referee Chris Leatherbarrow in the 47th minute of the game at The Shay, which Leigh went on to win 43-28 to claim a fourth Northern Rail Cup title.

Maden has been charged with Grade C punching and Higgins Grade B, and both players have the option of submitting an Early Guilty Plea.
