Year to Date Profit/Loss = -2pt

Weekend Selections

Huddersfield Giants (-8)
Hull Kingston Rovers (-18)
Wakefield Trinity Wildcats (-6)

Treble = 7/1

First pick of the week for me is Huddersfield Giants to beat Hull FC by more than 8 points.  Giants will be hurt after last weeks shock loss to Castleford Tigers and I expect them to bounce back strongly against a Hull FC side that is in poor form.

FC look a shadow of the side in recent seasons on current form it could be a long season for Hull FC.  Huddersfield have a good team and I feel they could be top two contenders come September time.

Expect Danny Brough to dictate play against his former team.  Can Sean Long keep up with Danny Brough?

Second choice is without doubt the nap of the weekend.  Hull Kingston Rovers were defeated in the final seconds last week away to Warrington and like Huddersfield, Hull KR could be serious contenders this year.

After last weeks, narrow defeat a home game against Catalans is exactly what they need.  The Dragons lost at home last week to a severely weakened Wakefield side and I just can’t find one reason why Catalans might be vaguely competitive in this one.

I round up this weeks handicap treble with a resurgent Wakefield side playing at home against what is a very poor Salford City Reds side.

Salford have been disappointing in both the opening rounds and now this could be a game, which determines coach Shaun McRae’s future.

I expect an eager home crowd ready to welcome home the Wildcats after last weeks heroic exploits in the South of France and nothing but another victory will be good enough.

Enjoy your rugby league were ever you are this weekend!
