Pettybourne to sit out Wakefield game

Eddy Pettybourne will miss Wigan’s game against Wakefield on Sunday after submitting an early guilty plea to a high tackle in the World Club Challenge.

Pettybourne, 26, was put on report for the late and high shot on Sydney Roosters winger Shaun Kenny-Dowall, and handed a Grade B charge.

He opted to take a one match-ban by submitting the EGP, although he may have been a doubt for the game through injury anyway, having picked up a bicep injury that saw him sit out the second half in Sydney.
