Perry Singleton released by Workington

Workington have announced that Perry Singleton has left the club due to work commitments.

Singleton, brother to Leeds prop Brad, joined the club ahead of the 2017 season and made 23 appearances last season, scoring 12 tries.

He had signed a two-year deal heading into the 2019 campaign but has now been released with immediate effect.

In a statement released by Workington, it read: “The Workington Town board has agreed to release Perry Singleton from the last year of his contract.

“Perry has informed us that while he loves the club, his new job means he will be unable to make training regularly and that he wants to focus on his new role.

“Therefore, he could not commit to the club for the 2020 season.

“The club would like to thank Perry for his efforts in a Town shirt and wish him the best in his new job.”
