Perry and Hohaia out for Saints

Josh Perry and Lance Hohaia are expected to be out of action for a few weeks after they both went off injured during last weekend’s win over Widnes.

Perry, 32, took a knock in an early tackle and went off with a knee problem, although the injury isn’t as bad as first feared, and he faces up to a month on the sideline.

New Zealand international Hohaia, who played at hooker in the absence of James Roby, went off in the second half but isn’t expected to be out long term.

Head Coach Nathan Brown told the club’s official website: “Josh has a knee problem and Lance a shoulder. At one point we were looking at 8 to 12 weeks with Perry so to be three to four weeks is a result. It is unfortunate, but it gives someone else a chance.

“Big Alex (Walmsley) is more than likely to come in for Josh and James Roby should be back on for Lance.

“Alex has done well – he has shown good form in the friendlies and John Kear has been happy with him too. He is ready to play and John said his attitude has been spot on.”
