Penrith 26-28 Canterbury

Hazem El Masri kicked Cantebury to a last-gasp 28-26 victory over Penrith, in an error-strewn but entertaining clash at CUA stadium.

Brett Kimmorley’s score was cancelled out by Paul Aiton and Brad Tighe finished brilliantly to take the lead for the Panthers. David Stagg scored his first try for Canterbury before veteran lock Trent Waterhouse crashed over after a neat juggling act.

The Bulldogs retook the lead after halftime thanks to tries from teenager Jamal Idris and new signing Greg Eastwood.

Another try from Waterhouse gave the home side a narrow lead before Ben Roberts dummied his way over following a break-out from the Bulldogs.
