Peacock and Ablett out for 8 weeks

Leeds pair Carl Ablett and Jamie Peacock have both been ruled out for up to two months through injury.

Ablett suffered a hand injury in the Tetley’s Challenge Cup loss at Huddersfield on Saturday whilst Peacock has injured his knee.

Coach Brian McDermott said: “It is a blow to lose both Carl and Jamie, especially considering the form that both players are in at present. The worst case scenario is that both are out for eight weeks but our medical staff will be working hard with them.

“It is obviously a blow to lose two internationals from our squad for two months but injuries are something that is part of our game and that is why you have a squad to draw upon.”

Brett Delaney could also miss the game against St Helens on Monday night with a shoulder injury.

Winger Ben Jones-Bishop is, however, only a few weeks away from making his return, after a spell on the sidelines due to a blood clot in one of his lungs.
