Paterson proves critics wrong

Cory Paterson says he and Leigh have proved a few people wrong after securing promotion to Super League for 2017.

Paterson left Salford last year to drop down a division to join Leigh.

The Australian has helped the Centurions end their 11-year exile from the top flight.

“Harrison [Hansen] and myself copped a bit of flak for dropping down a competition and joining Leigh,” Paterson told The Daily Star.

“We made a little pact between ourselves that we would do everything in our power to get this club up to Super League.

“Now we’ve done it and we’ve proved a few people wrong. That was our goal from the get-go.

“We got flak for it but we bought into Leigh’s vision and now I’m just so happy that we’ll be performing on the big stage week in week out next year.”
