Parramatta Eels have signed back-rower Ryan Matterson on a three-year deal from Wests Tigers.

The 25-year-old came through the system at Parramatta as a youngster and played three years in the lower grades for the club.

Matterson made his NRL debut in 2016 with the Roosters before joining Wests Tigers. He has made 84 first-grade appearances to date.

Eels coach Brad Arthur said: “It’s always great to see the return of a local Parramatta Eels junior.

“He’ll have a whole pre-season with the team and I know he’ll be an asset to our club next year.”
