Castleford have today completed the signing of Salford prop forward Rob Parker on a one month loan.

The Tigers have lost both first choice props Craig Huby and Jonathan Walker for the season to knee injuries, leaving Terry Matterson no option but to bring in cover for the injured duo.

Parker hasn’t featured in any of Salford Carnegie Challenge Cup fixtures this season so would be eligible to play in the Cup Quarter Final clash against Huddersfield on Sunday 24th of July, as well as Super League fixtures.

The former Warrington and Bradford foward, now 30, is out of contract with the City Reds and is playing for a deal for next season. He is to meet up with his new team mates tomorrow and likely to make his debut against Wigan next Wednesday.
