Leeds hooker Matt Parcell is relishing the prospect of kicking off the Super League season when the Rhinos tangle with St Helens on Thursday night at the Totally Wicked Stadium.

Parcell arrived at Leeds in the close season as a replacement for James Segeyaro, and is keen to finally get into action after three weeks training.

“I’m really excited,” he told Rhinos TV.

“I’m looking forward to going through the week and getting out there on Thursday night.

“Going in Thursday night, the first game of the season, there’s no waiting around, it’s straight into it.

“I’m feeling relaxed. I don’t usually get too nervous, so I just thought I’d enjoy the week and look forward to Thursday.

“I’ve only been here three weeks, so we’re still trying to get to know each other and train, and get combinations going, but we’ve got a lot to work on.

“We’ve worked a lot in the last three weeks, so we’re looking to put it all together on the field.”
