Widnes have confirmed that youngster Owen Farnworth has put pen to paper on a three-year deal.

The 19-year-old made his debut for the Vikings last season away at Leeds Rhinos and made his home debut earlier this year against Hull FC.

Farnworth has been selected in the England squads at every stage of the international youth pathway.

On his new deal, he said: “It feels good to have the deal done and signed.

“I’ve been here for five years now, and I love the place. It’s good for my career to be here so I’m happy to be staying.

“I’ve played with all the young lads that have signed already for the last few years, and we’ve done good things. So, I’m hoping that we can continue doing that moving forward into next year.

“For myself personally, hopefully I can get in that squad every week, show what I can do and give my all for the club in 2019.”
