Orr signs new one-year Tigers deal

Castleford have announced that captain Danny Orr has signed a one-year contract extension which will keep him at the club until the end of 2012.

The 33-year-old scrum half returned to his hometown club Castleford at the start of the current season after previously having stints at Wigan and Harlequins.

“I initially came back to Cas with a one-year deal and to get another 12 months on top is really pleasing.

“I’ve settled in much better than I thought I would, the lads have been great. I’m really enjoying my Rugby here, the club’s future looks good and I want to be a part of that.”

As well as remaining a full time player, Danny’s new contract will also involve coaching the junior players at the club. Already he plays a key role in assisting Richard Tunningley with coaching the under 18’s.

 Orr has made 21 appearances so far this season (1 as a sub), scored 4 tries, 2 goals and 20 points In his entire Castleford career he has made 212 appearances (25 as a sub) and scored 75 tries, 299 goals, 4 field goals and 902 points.
