O’Loughlin delighted with home advantage

Wigan captain Sean O’Loughlin believes that home advantage could be key, as the Warriors prepare to take on Huddersfield in the play-offs for the second consecutive year.

O’Loughlin, 31, led Wigan to a Challenge Cup and Super League double in 2013, and he is hoping that his side’s experience can see them through again this year.

“We’ve spent the last couple of weeks not really knowing where we would finish, but ending up in second place is fantastic,” said O’Loughlin, who was this week named in the Super League Dream Team for a fifth time.

“Playing at home can be a massive advantage in the play-offs, as it was last year when we beat Leeds.

“We learned a lot as a group in 2013, we know exactly what is required, and I am confident in our ability.

“That being said we know what a good side Huddersfield are and how tough the game will be.”
