O’Loughlin cleared following RFL investigation

The RFL has confirmed that Wigan captain Sean O’Loughlin has been cleared of any wrongdoing following an investigation in to an incident during the cup win over Castleford.

The Warriors defeated Castleford 26-12 to progress to the Challenge Cup semi-finals.

“The RFL can confirm that it received a complaint from a member of the public regarding an incident during the Wigan v Castleford Ladbrokes Challenge Cup Quarter Final,” it said in a statement.

“The RFL Compliance Unit undertook preliminary investigations, viewed footage of the incident and spoke with the referee and clubs concerned and it was clear that there was no evidence of any infringement of the Operational Rules.

“As such, the RFL will not be commenting any further on this matter.”
