Oldham forward Jack Spencer will miss this weekend’s Challenge Cup tie against Featherstone Lions with an elbow injury.

Spencer, 27, was forced off during the 14-0 win at Whitehaven last weekend, which was the Roughyeds first win there for 17 years.

A further examination revealed the elbow had been forced back against the joint.

Coach Scott Naylor said: “It’s nothing serious, but he won’t be available this weekend.

“It’s not long since he did it and we’ll have a better idea when it’s settled down.”

Oldham have a run of three successive home games, starting with the visit of the Yorkshire amateurs this weekend.

They then host Hemel Stags and York City Knights on consecutive Sundays in League One.
