Oldham have signed Wakefield youngsters Luke Hooley and Lee Kershaw on one-month loan deals.

Hooley, 19, is no stranger to the Roughyeds, having played six games for them in the Championship Shield last season. He can play at full-back or on the wing and is a talented goal kicker. Hooley has previously played for Bradford Bulls and Dewsbury Rams.

Kershaw, 18, is a prolific winger and has been at Trinity since he was 15 years of age. Both players are in Wakefield’s first team squad.

Oldham chairman, Chris Hamilton, said: “We welcome both Luke and Lee to Oldham and we are looking forward to having them with us.

“We know Luke well, of course, because of the time he spent with us towards the end of last season. He will be an excellent addition to the squad.

“Lee is a strong-running winger and is highly-rated by Wakefield. We are looking forward to seeing him in action at League 1 level.”

Hooley added: “I really enjoyed my time at Oldham. It was great experience for me and it’s good to be back.

“I’m really looking forward to playing some regular rugby again.”

Kershaw said: “I’m still eligible for the under-19s, but playing open-age rugby against men will be a new challenge. I’m looking forward to it.”
