Oldham have confirmed that they have signed Italian international Richard Lepori, who was most recently playing for Whitehaven.

The 23-year-old began his career at Salford and Castleford, before making his debut in senior rugby with the Roughyeds.

He played in 22 of Oldham’s games 24 games in 2013, scoring 12 tries.

Since then, he has also spent time in Australia in northern Queensland.

“He was one of our best players in my first season at Whitebank,” said Oldham coach Scott Naylor.

“He’s a massive addition to the squad – a quality signing.

“His arrival makes my selection job tougher, but with quality options that’s just how I like it.

“We keep topping up here and there and we should have Tom Ashton back after injury in the next couple of weeks.

“That will be like having two new players, not one.”
