Oldham have signed former Widnes winger Ryan Ince on a one-year contract.

The 24-year-old came through the ranks at hometown club Widnes, scoring 31 tries in 46 games for the Vikings.

Ince joined Leigh ahead of the 2020 campaign and spent the early part of the season on loan at Oldham before the Championship season was cut short due to the coronavirus pandemic.

Oldham coach Matt Diskin said: “Ryan is quality, I’m excited by his capture.

“We were impressed when he played on loan for us against Bradford and Dewsbury in March. He has pedigree and experience and he’s a good person too.

“He can play centre as well, so he gives us options. Ryan is a big signing.”

Ince said: “I enjoyed my time at Oldham and that had a big bearing on my decision to sign.

“Everyone at the club, including the other lads and the fans, made me feel welcome.”
