Oldham have announced the signing of former Salford, Warrington and Dewsbury hooker Jamie Abram for the 2021 Championship season.

Abram, 20, is the younger brother of Roughyeds full-back Dan and the son of Darren, an Oldham centre in the 1990s.

He joined Salford Red Devils scholar at the age of 16 and later played for the Wolves under-19s, and joins Oldham from Dewsbury, where he signed in November 2020.

Head coach Matt Diskin said: “Jamie is a quality young player from a good rugby league family.

“He’s got a great work ethic and he’s well aware of – but not fazed by – the challenge that lies ahead of him and the fact that he has a lot of experience in front of him (in the selection process).

“That alone says a lot about the lad.”
