Michael Oldfield is the latest player to announce his departure from Manly after signing with the Roosters.

Oldfield, 21, who has played in a number of positions for the Sea Eagles, will join the Bondi Junction club next season on a two-year deal.

“2012 has been a breakthrough year for Michael,” said Roosters recruitment manager Peter O’Sullivan.

Oldfield is regarded as one of the NRL‘s fastest players and has grabbed 12 tries in just 22 appearances.

“Michael has played fullback, wing and centre and gives us great depth and coverage across the backline,” added O’Sullivan.

“We see him taking his game to the next level as a member of the young squad developing together here at the Roosters and we look forward to welcoming him to the club in 2013.”

Oldfield is the Manly player in a week to sign with a rival club after Darcy Lussick opted to leave Brookvale for Parramatta from next year.
