Underbank Rangers make history in Challenge Cup

Underbank Rangers are in the fourth round of the Challenge Cup for the first time after beating League One side West Wales Raiders on Sunday.

In one of only two ties that survived Storm Ciara on the day, the West Yorkshire amateurs eased to a 30-8 win at Stebonheath Park.

One of the oldest amateur clubs in rugby league were founded in Holmfirth back in 1884 and go in to the hat for the fourth round draw, to be held in Halifax on Monday evening.

Joining them in the hat are Hunslet, who were 36-4 winners at home to League One counterparts Coventry Bears.

Four other scheduled ties, all involving League One sides, were postponed and so all eight teams will have an interest in Monday night’s draw.

The 13 English Championship sides are also in, with ties scheduled to take place on February 22/23.
