Abdull to KR?
One whisper doing the rounds at the moment is Hull FC playmaker Jordan Abdull to head to local rivals Hull KR for next year. Hull KR are certainly on the lookout for a half, and Abdull has yet to fully cement his spot with the Black and Whites. He put in some mixed performances in 2016 and also spent some time on loan at Fev. This deal is far from done at this stage, we understand, but could be on the cards.

All good at Belle Vue

We broke the news on Monday that Wakefield are very keen to sign Robins forward Mitch Allgood. Wakey coach Chris Chester had Allgood at Hull KR and remains a fan. One of our sources believes it has been signed on the dotted line and is all arranged. But we’ve also been told us that nothing has been finalised yet, with Trinity having made an enquiry but talks remain at an early stage.

Fifita furphy

We’ve been told that the story linking Andrew Fifita to Wakefield is pure fantasy. Yes, Fifita is unhappy in the NRL and is contemplating a way out. And yes, his twin brother David did have a recent spell at Belle Vue. But that’s about it. Fifita is more likely to make a big money move to rugby union, or even to the Newcastle Knights, then to do a Wally Lewis and sign for Trinity sadly.

Eligiblity error

Who is the player who’s international eligibility for the Four Nations has raised some eyebrows? We can’t name them, but it comes down to his heritage and family issues, and it has been a touch awkward to sort out. We’ve also heard of another player who could have played in this Four Nations, but he only realised he had a grandparent making him eligible after the squads were announced. Oops.

NRL wheeler-dealing
Penrith prop Jeremy Latimore won’t be coming to Super League as he has inked a contract with Cronulla. There’s talk that the Sharkies have made a bid for James Segeyaro to replace the retiring Michael Ennis. It also appears Manly forward Blake Leary‘s proposed move to Bradford has hit a snag. Panthers forward Suaia Matagi was supposed to be on his way to the Sea Eagles, but Manly are trying to offload some players to make room. The Sea Eagles are also after Penrith centre Dean Whare as the replacement to the departing Steve Matai.
