Hull KR youngster Will Oakes believes the Humberside outfit is the perfect club to help him develop his talents.

Oakes extended his contract last month until the end of 2019, and after featuring in the last three games the 18-year-old is delighted with his progress.

“I’ve loved it here over the last 12 months or so, that’s why I signed another contract – it’s a really good environment for me to kick on and excel in my game,” Oakes told the Hull Daily Mail.

“I’ll only be turning 20 by the time my contract ends. My aim originally at the start of the season was to play ten games. I’ve just got to continue working hard to try and achieve that.

“I’ve been waiting all pre-season for my chance and I’ve come out to give everything I had. I can only do my best can’t I?

“It is a little frustrating when you don’t get a game, but I’ve always got the City of Hull Academy to fall back on. I can get game-time there if I can’t get in the first team.”
