Nuuausala keen to emulate Warriors of old

Frank-Paul Nuuausala is hoping to make a big impact at his new club Wigan, and wants to emulate some of the Kiwis who have starred at the club in the past.

He also indicated that, although it was slightly sooner in his career than he expected, he always planned to play in Super League one day.

“I remember watching Wigan on the TV when I was a kid watching the likes of Dean Bell and Frano Botica,” he told his new club’s official website.

“Wigan were always on in New Zealand because they were always winning!

“It was always my intention to come to Super League. I came a bit earlier than I thought I would but I needed a change.

“I feel like the new kid in school at the minute but once I get used to the players, the club and the town then I will be fine.”

Nuuausala also felt that Wigan looked like a famous fictional street which he had seen on television.

“I’ve not had much chance to look around the town yet,” he added.

“I have only been to the hotel where I’m staying, but from the first look, it looks a bit like Coronation Street. All of the houses look the same!

“I am just trying to find my feet at the moment and trying to get rid of the jet lag.”
