NSW names five rookies for Origin I

NSW coach Laure Daley has selected five debutants in his 19-man squad for Game I of the 2016 State of Origin series.

The debutants are Tyson Frizell (Dragons), Josh Mansour and Matt Moylan (Panthers), Adam Reynolds (Rabbitohs) and Dylan Walker (Sea Eagles).

Game I will be held at Sydney’s ANZ Stadium on Wednesday, 1 June.

Penrith back-rower Bryce Cartwright was originally selected in a development squad, but has since been ruled out with a thumb injury. Daley will name his replacement in due course.

The likes of Cowboys fullback Lachlan Coote, Broncos centre James Roberts and Knights halfback Trent Hodkinson missed out on selection.

Daley is yet to finalise positions and starting line-up with the squad announced in alphabetical order as follows:
