NRLW season to go ahead in 2020

Drew Darbyshire

The ARLC has approved the continuation of the NRLW for the 2020 season, commencing in September.

The announcement comes after the Commission had already approved a stand-alone Women’s State of Origin match on November 13.

The NRLW will remain a four-team (Brisbane Broncos, St George Illawarra Dragons, Sydney Roosters and New Zealand Warriors) competition in 2020, with the Grand Final being played on the same day as the NRL Grand Final on October 25.

ARLC chairman Peter V’landys said: “The women’s game is a very important element of rugby league.

“We are very proud of our achievements in the women’s game and we should be providing it the significance it deserves.
