NRL experiences growth surge

The NRL is reporting growth in crowds, membership and television ratings this season compared with 2015.

According to the Australian Financial Review, TV ratings per round are averaging at 4.17 mllion compared with 3.54 million last year.

Round nine in the NRL saw an average attendance of 16,880 per game, up 5% from the 16,102 figure at round nine in 2015.

The likes of the Canberra Raiders, Wests Tigers and New Zealand Warriors have all recorded increases in their membership numbers.

The NRL has also reached two million followers on its Instagram, Twitter and Facebook social media platforms.
