Triallist Nick Cooper is set to make his home debut as the Dons wrap up their Northern Rail Cup campaign with a rearranged fixture against Blackpool.

Cooper, a Hull Ionians three-quarter, started on the wing during Doncaster’s 36-30 defeat at Swinton on Sunday.

Dons coach Tony Miller said: “We have some good young players and once they gel together I’m sure the results will start to come for us. We have to be patient.”

But Miller will have to pick a side without forward Scott Johnson, who is ruled out with an ankle injury.

Panthers coach Martin Crompton will rest Casey Mayberry and Paul Anderson, while Kurt Haggerty, Paul Ballard and Andy Hobson will start on the bench.

Crompton said: “I’ve got a few of the fringe players who I want to give a run out.

“We’ll try to put on a show while at the same time see where those fringe players are at.

“We want to win the game and play well. I’ve got a healthy squad at the moment, so players are under pressure to perform if they want to keep their shirts.”
