NRC Preview: Doncaster v Barrow

Doncaster skipper Craig Lawton (knee) has been ruled out of Sunday’s Northern Rail Cup tie against Barrow.

Aaron Henry will also miss out but Craig Fawcett has declared himself fit and ready for action after a training session on Wednesday night.

Raiders coach Steve McCormack has been boosted by the availability of Liam Campbell and James Coyle for Sunday’s clash.

However, Liam Harrison and Rob Roberts remain doubtful. “Liam has a slight hamstring strain but he still might be OK,” said McCormack. “Rob only did his first training session on Tuesday so he probably will not be ready this week but he isn’t far away.”

On Doncaster, McCormack added: “Tony Miller is an excellent coach and he’ll have his team fired up against us.

“They’ll be very dangerous and it will be interesting to see how they go. We know we’ve got to perform because I’ve been in the same situation before and I know how easy it is for favourites to come undone.”
