Widnes will travel to Halifax for the third time this season in the Northern Rail Cup semi finals.

The Vikings were beaten 20-16 in the Challenge Cup and 24-14 in the Championship by Matt Calland’s men, who reached the semi finals with a comprehensive 54-16 win over Leigh today.

Widnes defeated Championship 1 side York 44-18 last night, and will be looking to reach their second final in three years, having won the competition under Steve McCormack in 2007.

In the other semi-final, Barrow will host Featherstone.

Barrow defeated Championship 1 leaders Dewsbury 20-18 at Craven Park last night, while Featherstone saw off Oldham in the televised clash on Thursday night.

The games will be played on the weekend June 20/21.
