The line up for this years Northern Rail Cup Quarter-Finals have now been confirmed after an exciting last round of group games today.

Batley produced arguably the performance of the round after comprehensively beating Featherstone 34-22 at the Bigfellas Stadium, ending a 14 game unbeaten streak for the Rovers, who also qualify.

Halifax squeezed into the last 8 after scoring the winning try on the very last play of the match in a thrilling 16-12 win at London Skolars. Skolars had been leading throughout the entire game and will take a lot of heart from a superb performance.

Keighley are the last team to qualify from Group A after a comfortable 26-12 home victory against Oldham.

The first team to qualify for the last 8 was Sheffield Eagles, who thrashed York 36-4 at the Don Valley on Friday night. A fourth game in 13 days proved to be too much for the Knights, who miss out on points difference despite winning 3 of their 4 group games.

Hunslet edged past Doncaster and into the draw with a 20-10 victory at South Leeds Stadium, while Leigh strolled into the draw with a 42-0 victory against Gateshead, in a match played at Newcastle Falcon’s Kingston Park.

Barrow are the last team in the hat from group B, and the only Championship 1 team left in the competition after a tough 18-10 victory at Whitehaven.

It is expected that the postponed game between London Skolars and Toulouse will now not take part as the result will have no bearing on the final qualifying teams.

The draw for the Quarter-Finals is expected to take place on Thursday night, when Batley entertain Leigh in the opening game of the 2012 Championship season, live on Premier Sports from 7pm.
